Secret Neighbours – Stories of life in an old barn

For one summer day, this film observes the secret life in an old barn, located somewhere in Southern Germany.

Description

A labyrinth of wood and straw and old agricultural equipment. Remarkable creatures live here. A Mouse weasel – the smallest predator in the world, darts over the timber beams and drags its hunting prey to its den. Pseudoscorpions colonize small, moist oases in the straw. The Redtail uses a missing brick in the barn wall as a safe nesting place. There are also strange creatures living in front of the barn. Floating wasps, the stork that does not hunt for frogs and the ring snake that burys its treasure in the manure.

But when the night dawns, the barn really comes. It looks like a haunted house when the lightning of the summer thunderstorm illuminates the countless webs of the angular spiders. Tawny owl, long-eared bat and common toad are now really cheerful. A shrew chases a juicy chunk of prey and suffers foul-smelling acid attacks.
